Obituary

Joan B. Rux, age 71, of W8663 Peachey Rd, Beaver Dam, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.


Joan was born on May 31, 1936 to Fred and Alice (nee Norris) Mohr. She was a graduate of Cambria-Friesland High School and on August 6, 1955 she married her husband, Clinton "Chub" Rux in Dubuque, Iowa. Joan was a switchboard operator at Wisconsin Bell until 1975, and she was also the heart and soul of Beaver Furniture Strippers for 22 years. In addition to her busy career, Joan was a homemaker and extremely proud of raising her three daughters. She was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam, where she took care of recording their services for the radio station for several years. Joan was also an active participant and extremely supportive of Clinton's woodworking throughout his career. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, cooking, spending time with her family and playing radio BINGO.


Joan is survived by her three daughters, Cindy (Randy) Schultz-Munson of Belleville, WI, Valerie Rux of Fox Lake, WI, and Roxanne Kading of Stoughton, WI, two grandsons, Joshua and Joseph Schultz, two sisters Jane Nefzer of Brown Deer, WI and Ann Wilson of Brookfield, WI, two brothers William Mohr of Santa Clara, CA and Donald (Evelyn) Mohr of Wickenburg, AZ, one sister-in-law Marion Mohr of Orfordville, WI, and her beloved cat Tuffy. Joan is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clinton "Chub", one brother, Robert Mohr, two brother-in-laws, and one sister-in-law.
Funeral Services for Joan will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Twelve o'clock p.m. (NOON) at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam with Rev. Philip Heyer officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from ten o'clock until the time of the service at NOON. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Memorials in Joan's name may be directed to St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society.
