Obituary

John "JT" C. Trebilcock, age 71 of Beaver Dam, passed away at home on Friday, November 22, 2024.

John was born in Nuremberg, Germany on September 28, 1953, the son of George and Charlotte (Marietti) Trebilcock, and settled in Iron Mountain, Michigan. He was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam, where he was wounded in service. While stationed in Washington D.C, John had the privilege of serving in the Honor Guard. He also walked the Tomb of the Unknown Solider. After his discharge from the Army, John attended Northern Michigan University, where he graduated with a BSN. John truly loved being a nurse and helping others, especially when he found his niche in the OR. He moved to Petoskey, Michigan, where he became a very vocal proponent of fighting to unionize the hospital. He then began his career as a travel nurse, working at many hospitals throughout Michigan and Indiana, before retiring in 2014. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. In his younger years, he also loved sports, excelling in football, basketball, and baseball.  In 2019, John moved to Beaver Dam, where he resided with his wife and beloved dogs. His grandson, Killian, was the joy of his life.

John leaves behind his wife, Karri (née, Gill) Trebilcock; daughter, Jessica Trebilcock; son, Dakota Boyer-Trebilcock; step-daughter, Kaleigh Schultz; grandson, Killian Boyer; Killian's mother, Gloria Boyer; sisters, Helen (Dave) Oredi, Mary (Kelly) Bloyer, Roberta (Doug) Rigoni, and Jane Carlson; nephews, Mike, Mark, and Anthony Oredi, Brett and Brian Carlson, and Steve and Chris Rigoni; nieces, Samantha Trebilcock, Misty (Gerad) Lefebvre, and Marty Bloyer; and sister-in-law, Lisa Trebilcock. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sam Trebilcock; and other relatives.
