John Koehler

John Koehler, 81, of rural Rosendale passed away peacefully Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.

John was born May 16, 1941, the son of Oscar and Marguerite Howland Koehler. On April 27, 1963 he married Judy DeGroot at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford, WI. John worked at Mercury Marine for 45 years, testing motors, and retired in 1992. John loved to mow his lawn and repair his lawnmower. He also loved to watch TV, especially the Packers. He was a past member of the Rosendale Lions, Cub Scout, Little League Baseball, and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun.

John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy; two daughters: Carla Koehler and Jean Heaster; a son, Gregory (Michelle) Koehler; three grandchildren: Maureen, Erin, and Finn Heaster; a sister, Susan Koehler; a sister-in-law, Cindy Henning; and nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cora Ryan; and two brothers: James and Gary Koehler.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun with Fr. John Radetski officiating. Burial will take place at Brandon Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on the family at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
