August 17, 1943 – August 1, 2011
John L. Vujnovich, age 67 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. John was born on August 17, 1943 in Beaver Dam to Leonard and Mary (nee Crinion) Vujnovich. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1961 and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. On September 18, 1965 he was united in marriage to Jacqui Marshall in Beaver Dam. Before retiring in 2001, John worked at John Deere in Horicon for over 25 years. John was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, formerly St. Michael's Catholic Church, in Beaver Dam.
John's family was the center of his life. Nothing was more important to him than spending time with his wife, daughters and grandchildren, and knowing that they were all taken care of. He spent countless hours sitting on bleachers, supporting his daughters and grandchildren play sports. John always enjoyed hunting deer, bear, pheasant and turkey, especially when he was accompanied by his grandson. He was an avid reader, he enjoyed doing puzzles and he looked forward to his monthly breakfast with friends at Sunview Restaurant. John was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa and friend.
John will be dearly missed by his wife Jacqui of Beaver Dam; his daughters, Heather (Shawn) Madeiros, Kelly (Craig) Brandsma and Amanda (Mark) Schroeder, all of Beaver Dam; his grandchildren, Emily and Grace Madeiras, Ty and Hailey Brandsma, and Quentin and Lydia Schroeder; his siblings, Karen (Dave) Straseske of Beaver Dam, Lawrence Vujnovich of Fox Lake, Michael Vujnovich of Gleason, WI, Charles (Karen) Vujnovich of Mesa, AZ and Jeffrey Vujnovich, formerly of Beaver Dam; and his mother-in-law, Shirley Graham of Beaver Dam. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, James Vujnovich, his sister, Sandra Schimming and his father-in-law, Jack Marshall.
