John Lanphier, age 67, of Fox Lake and formerly of Beaver Dam, passed away on December 23, 2017 at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison.

John, the son of Ardee and Elizabeth (Reuter) Lanphier, was born on February 25, 1950 in Harvard, IL. He joined the US Army in 1970, serving in Germany. He was then employed at Butcher Boy in Harvard for many years. On February 6, 1993 he married his second wife, Susan McFarlane, in Harvard. He retired from Dwyer Property Management/Sunset Pointe Apartments in Beaver Dam in July 2015 and was diagnosed with cancer shortly after. John battled cancer for 2.5 years with the help of the VA and UW Hospitals in Madison.

John is survived by his wife Susan; his sons Kris, Eric (Kim), Mark and Jeff (Amy) Lanphier; granddaughters Audria & Jayna Lanphier; stepchildren Tim (Megan) Staab, Mike (Lindsay) Staab, Jennifer (Nick) Maleck; step-grandsons Parker, Hunter, and Spencer Maleck, and Paxton Staab; brothers Jim (Paula) and Bill (Gayle) Lanphier; sisters Lynn (Sam Ramey) Koutiel, Monica (Darrel) Lewis; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Michael and Ardee Jr. "Butch"; and other relatives.

There will be no funeral per John's request. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
