John A. Riehbrandt, age 74 of Iron Ridge died on Sunday, September 2, 2007 at Mayville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

John was born on September 14, 1932 in Beaver Dam to Emil and Agnes (nee Krueger) Riehbrandt Sr. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School and proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army in Korea. John worked as a Deputy Sheriff for the Dodge County Sheriff's Department and retired and 17 years of service. He also enjoyed spending time at his land up north, attending gun and car shows and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

John is survived by two daughters, Amy Carpenter of Manitowoc, Karen (Scott) Drake of Beaver Dam, his son, Dan (Kay) Riehbrandt of Lomira, a brother, Ambrose (Susan) Reihbandt of Beaver Dam, a sister, Agnes (Eugene) Schroeder of Beaver Dam, grandchildren; Aaron Foster, Ryan Carpenter, Jeremy (Beth) Drake, Jason and Steve Drake, Mathew and Molly Reibrandt. John is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Joseph, Walter, Emil Jr. and Leo, a sister in law, Jeanette Reihbandt and two nephews Gary Riehbrandt and Jim Reihbandt.

Funeral Services for John will be on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 1:00p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services in Beaver Dam with Fr. Michael Wild officiating. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 11:00a.m. until the time of Service at 1:00p.m. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #146 of Beaver Dam. A luncheon will immediately follow at the Funeral Home. Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services is honored to be serving the family.
