John Thomas Jastrom, age 89 of Mayville, passed away on December 17, 2018 at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison.

John was born on August 7, 1929, the son of John and Rose Jastrom. He proudly served his country as a cook in the U.S. Army and later worked for Outboard Marine – Johnson Motors in Illinois for 30 years.

John is survived by his special friend, Bonnie Thomas of Fayetteville, AR; children, Therese A. (Dennis) Young of Mayville, Alice R. Taylor of Beach Park, IL, John R. (Debbie) Jastrom of Waukegan, IL, and Steve J. Jastrom of Mesa, AZ; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ron Jastrom of Winthroup Harbor, IL, and Gerry (Jerry) Kohler of Waukegan, IL; his faithful dog friend Cloie; and further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Doris (Bob) Neimi; sister-in-law, Judy Jastrom; and other relatives.

In honoring John's wishes, no formal service will be held.
