Joseph J. Scheradella, 75, of Waupun, died Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac following a courageous battle of cancer with his family at his side.




Joe was born June 27, 1939 in Beaver Dam, the son of Matthew and Margaret Swederski Scheradella. Joe attended St. Peter’s Catholic Grade School in Beaver Dam and in 1958 he graduated from Beaver Dam High School. On September 2, 1961 he married Mary Weyh in Beaver Dam at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Joe was employed by Wisconsin Division of Corrections, working at Waupun Correctional Institution in Waupun for 31 years from which he retired. Joe and Mary enjoyed camping and fishing and being with family.

Joe is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary “Judy” Scheradella of Waupun; two daughters: Debra (Barry) Ter Beest of rural Waupun and Gail (Howie) Minnema of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren: Bryan (Kendra) Ter Beest, Kyle Ter Beest, Derek (Anna) Minnema, Tara (Jason) Kieler, and Tasha (Tyler) Tadman; six great-grandchildren: Brysen and Wyatt Ter Beest, Caleb, Grace, and Evianna Minnema, and Kaylynn Kieler; two sisters: Ruth (Alfred) Geiger of Columbus and Dorothy Aldinger of Waterloo; and cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-laws; and a great-granddaughter, Addysen Ter Beest.






Visitation:


Friends and relatives may call on the family on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service.



Services:


Memorial services for Joe Scheradella will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Rev. Mike Wild officiating.



Inurnment:


Inurnment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton.
