Joe F. Mallon, age 71 of Beaver Dam, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, August 21, 2011
Joe was born on February 2, 1940 in Beaver Dam to Vincent and Ellagene (nee Gobeli) Mallon. He attended Beaver Dam High School and worked at John Deere for 30 years until his retirement in 1996. Part-time after retirement he worked for Piggly Wiggly, Neuman Pools, and Artic Fisherman.
Joe was united in marriage to Patricia Roedl on Oct. 11, 1958 in Beaver Dam and later to Bettie Binder Peters on September 25, 2004 in Las Vegas. Joe loved bowling, playing cards, watching game shows, playing solitaire, going to local races and watching NASCAR and Packers and Brewers. He also loved traveling, specifically the road trips to Arizona and other destinations. He enjoyed spending time helping out his friends and cherished the moments he spent with family. His love for Nestle chocolate milk will always be remembered. Joe was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam and International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Lodge # 873.
Joe is survived by his wife, Bettie Mallon of Beaver Dam; his children, Jeff (Kathy) Mallon of Pensacola, Fl, Jodie (Ray) Clavey of Cambria; step-children, Deborah (Ed) De Clue of Oconomowoc, Mark (Michelle) Kreuziger of Berryville, VA, Kim Peters and Steve Peters, both of Beaver Dam; 4 grandsons, 3 step-granddaughters and 5 great grandchildren. Joe is further survived by his siblings, Tom (Mary) Mallon of Madison, Judy (Bill) Gorman, Pat Ann (Jim) Przekurat, Lois "Buck" Wright, Dennis "Poncho" (Shelley) Mallon all of Beaver Dam; Aunt Blondie and Uncle Pink Hughes of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Aunt Verna Schultz of Beaver Dam, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia in 2000, a brother Terry in infancy and other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service for Joe will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Serivces, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam with Rev. Mark Jensen officiating. A Memorial Gathering will take place prior to the service at the funeral home, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, Town of Trenton.
