Joe was born on May 22, 1943 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He graduated from Fond du Lac High School and was in the first auto mechanics class at Fond du Lac Vocational School. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army. Joe was united in marriage to Holly Hoesly on August 8, 1970 in Monroe.
Joe was always a hard working man, learning as a young farmer that you had to make hay while the sun was shining. Those traits carried on throughout his life as he owned and operated Shea's Muffler Shop for many years. Joe worked hard, played hard and enjoyed every minute of life.
Joe was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Fond du Lac and the Knights of Columbus. He loved his home on Green Lake and enjoyed traveling, four wheeling, fishing, racing and cooking. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and was considered a good friend to many.
Joe will be dearly missed by his wife, Holly of Green Lake; his daughters, Sheri (David) Rowe of Cedarburg and Kim (Terry) Daniels of Fitchburg; his granddaughter, Ashley Rowe; his siblings, Bette (Al) Schneider of Fond du Lac, Fr. James Shea, C.Ss.R. of San Antonio, TX and Monica (Fran) Roach of Fond du Lac; brother-in-law, Gary (Kathy) Hoesly of Elizabeth, AR; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Sheridan and Mary (Kramer) Shea; in-laws, Hervey and Sally Hoesly; niece, Mary Jo Schneider and other relatives.
Memorials in Joe's name may be directed to Fr. Mike Shea (cousin) for Friends of Sarnelli House UA (a home for abandoned children in Thailand) PO Box 88234, Milwaukee, WI 53288 or Fr. James Shea (brother) for St. Gerard Food Pantry, 1523 Iowa St., San Antonio, TX 78203.
