Judith Ann “Judy” Hampton, age 81, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.
Judy was born on August 28, 1944, in Wisconsin, the daughter of Sydney and Lois (Schultz) Cupery. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gerald Hampton, on April 26, 1969, in Beaver Dam.
Judy worked in the crafting department at Shopko and Walmart for many years, and loved to knit, crochet, sew, and do anything crafty. She particularly liked knitting and crocheting mittens, hats, and socks to donate to those in need, as well as for her family and friends. She also worked Hillside Kids Care, where she especially enjoyed getting to care for her granddaughter. Her family was her life, and she cherished spending time with her loved ones.
She also loved collecting baby dolls and making clothes for them, and she had a fondness for dragonflies.
One of her favorite pass times was playing double- or triple-solitaire with her children, which usually involved a lot of laughter.
Judy is survived by her children, Janice (Robert) Setzer of Hillsboro, Oregon, Jennifer (Edward) Goss of Beaver Dam, and Jim Hampton of Beaver Dam; four grandchildren, Derek Setzer, Trevor Setzer, Kaitlin Keller, and Kalie Goss (Cody Linzenmeyer); three great-grandchildren, Luci Setzer, Julian Setzer, and Gracie Setzer; her siblings, Dan (Diane) Cupery and Jeff (Sally) Cupery; her uncle Clark Cupery; and her beloved dogs, Baby and Lucy; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney and Lois; her husband, Gerald Hampton; and other relatives.
A memorial gathering for Judy will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Praise Assembly of God Church in Beaver Dam, 119 W. Maple Ave, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Randy Carey officiating. Inurnment will take place at Friesland Cemetery.
