Judith K. Scott-Steinberg, age 84 of Reeseville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, September 5, 2025 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.
Visitation for Judith will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 10:00 a.m until the time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 210 Lincoln Ave. in Reeseville. Burial will follow at Lowell Cemetery.
Judy was born in Weyauwega on February 7, 1941, the daughter of George and Edith (Mason) Capen. She was a 1959 graduate of Waupun High School. From 1960 until 1973, she was employed at Ripon Industries of Waupun. On September 3, 1988, she was united in marriage to her husband, Rev. Donald Steinberg at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Reeseville. She was a Postmaster Replacement for 6 years and the Postmaster for over 20 years at the Lowell Post Office. Most recently, she was employed at McDonalds in Waupun. She also served on both the Lowell and Reeseville Village boards. An active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, she served in many different capacities, including serving on the Board of Directors, as Sunday School Superintendent, and as an usher. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, knitting, baking, crocheting, and card making.
Judy is survived by her husband, Rev. Donald Steinberg of Reeseville; children, Guy L. (Connie Bosley) Damerow of Malone, Bambi L. (Mark) Hupfer of Horicon, Heidi L (Nick) Johnson of Hooper, NE, and Ericka L. (David) Greppi of Juneau; grandchildren, Ross D. (Katelyn) Johnson, Jake L. (Megan) Johnson, Sabrina R. (Brandon) Loomis, Ashton S. Greppi, and Belladona S. Greppi; great-grandchildren, Levi Loomis, Linkin Loomis, Layne Johnson, Luke Johnson, and Shay Johnson; sister-in-law, Betty Capen of Markesan; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Carl Damerow, second husband, Alfred Scott; sister, Dorothy Deutsch; brothers, Richard Weber and Robert Capen; great-granddaughter, Hadley Johnson; and other relatives.
