Judy A. Broome age 66 of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam after a 12 year courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Judy was born in Beaver Dam on September 24, 1942 to Robert "Red" and Beatrice (nee Grueneburg) Steinbach. Following her graduation from Beaver Dam High School, Judy was united in marriage to David Broome on September 14, 1962. Judy worked as a bank teller and bookkeeper at First National Bank, Valley Bank, M&I Bank and Bank One in Beaver Dam and later worked as a cashier at Shopko. She was also a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.

Much of Judy's enjoyment in life revolved around her family. She loved fishing, traveling, going on family trips, spending time outdoors and the cherished time with her family at the family cabin in northern Wisconsin. Judy also enjoyed spending time with her dogs and going on hunting trips with her husband Dave. She truly valued the quality time they spent together. Dave was by her side every step of the way over the past 12 difficult years and she was so appreciative. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Judy is survived by her loving husband, David "Dave" of Beaver Dam, her 2 daughters, Kelly Broome of Janesville and Tracy (Nathan) Caves of Watertown, her grandchildren, Zachary, Shani, Brenna and Emelia Caves all of Watertown, her mother, Beatrice Steinbach of Beaver Dam, 2 brothers, Robert "Mike" (Laura) Steinbach of Baltimore, MD and Paul (Jennifer) Steinbach of Beaver Dam, 2 brother-in-laws, Gary (Peggy) Broome and Mike (Debra) Broome both of Beaver Dam and a sister-in-law, Janice (Randy) Hirsig of Sun Prairie. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Judy is preceded in death by her father Robert "Red" Steinbach and her father and mother-in-law.

A funeral service for Judy will be held at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam, 300 West St. in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Philip Heyer officiating. Visitation for Judy will be on Friday, December 12, 2008 from 5-7p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral and Cremation Service, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam. There will also be visitation on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the Church from 10:00a.m. until the time of service at 11:00a.m. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton and a luncheon will immediately follow at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services in Beaver Dam. Memorials may be directed to St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam, Hillside Manor and Hillside Hospice.

Judy's family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Hillside Manor and to Hillside Hospice. The care and compassion they showed to Judy and their family was greatly appreciated.
