Judy A. (Schmidt) Tischer, age 74 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully at the Dycora Transitional Living Center on Saturday, April 14, 2018.

A memorial gathering for Judy will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 700 E. Mill St., Beaver Dam from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Oscar Rozo officiating.

Judy was born on January 29, 1944 at the Lutheran Deaconess Hospital in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Harold and Lovine (Knorr) Schmidt and was a graduate of the Beaver Dam High School class of 1962. Judy was married and gave birth, as the story goes, during a major snowstorm in December 1970 to her pride and joy, her daughter, Bambi Lynn. Judy taught her daughter that you can always do better for yourself and family through education. She completed coursework at Moraine Park Technical College and received her Licensed Trained Practical Nursing license in 1978. Judy loved caring for others in their time of pain and need for many years. She and Bambi were proud to be the leaders of the first Daisy Girl Scout troop in Beaver Dam. Judy's first priority was always her daughter. Judy enjoyed Jeopardy, was an avid reader and loved playing "music trivia" with Bambi. In later years, Judy found her spiritual roots with St. Mark's Episcopal Church and loved her church family so very much.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Bambi L. Tischer (Dawn Anderson) of Sun Prairie; sister, Susan J. (Schmidt) Machkovitz of Beaver Dam; and chosen daughters, Ann (Slinger) York and Dawn (Cigelske) Kastenmeier of Beaver Dam; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, David Machkovitz, and other relatives.
