Obituary
Judith M. Guenther, age 68 of Beaver Dam, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at her home.
Judy was born on September 12, 1943 in Milwaukee to Arthur and Isabel (nee Krueger) Opperud. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School and on January 18, 1964 she was united in marriage to Roger Guenther at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. In her earlier years she enjoyed camping, boating, snowmobiling, maintaining her flowers and later going on gambling trips to Ho Chunk Casino. Family was always a top priority, especially her grandchildren. She cherished going to their sporting events, school functions, recitals and spent as much time with them as she possibly could. Judy had a loving heart for her family and always put others first. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed. Judy was also a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam and the Beaver Dam Elks Club-Lodge 1540
Judy is survived by her husband Roger of Beaver Dam; children, Ron (Lori) Guenther of Beaver Dam, Brenda (Chad) Van Loo of Beaver Dam, Julie (Bryce) DaWalt of Cottage Grove, WI; grandchildren, Joshua, Adam, Andy, Eric, Heather, Derek, Abbey, Kailey, Jase, Alyssa, Giovanina; great-grandchildren, Rylan, Landon and Marcella. She is further survived by a sister, Nancy (Paul) Lauth of Beaver Dam; sister-in-laws, Marianne Opperud of Watertown, Lois (Norbert) Matuszeski of Randolph, Linda Wolc of Beaver Dam, Debbie (Mike) Gold of Volente, TX, Sue Guenther of Beaver Dam, an aunt, Fran Mietzel of Beaver Dam, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Edward Opperud, a nephew, Bruce Opperud, her father and mother-in-law and other relatives
A Mass of Christian Burial for Judy will be on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 511 S. Spring St. in Beaver Dam with Fr. Mike Erwin as celebrant. Visitation will also be held on Saturday at the Church beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam and a luncheon will follow at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd in Beaver Dam.
