Justin was born on July 31, 1982 in Elmhurst, Illinois to Jerry and Shari (nee Wiederhold) Shanahan. He graduated from River Forest High School in Oak Park, Illinois. On October 6, 2007 Justin was united in marriage to Kristine Weidler at Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Justin worked at Harlem & Division B.P. Station in Oak Park, IL, Goodyear in Madison and most recently at Wisconsin R.V. in DeForest. Justin was a car buff. He loved cars of all sizes, especially his "Rag Doll" a 1963 Ford Fairlane. He enjoyed racing his R.C. cars at area race tracks. Justin loved spending time with his family and friends, watching movies and reading. He was a very social person and could make you laugh and smile no matter what. Justin took pride in making things easy for people. He will be deeply missed.
Justin is survived by his wife, Kristine Shanahan, Beaver Dam, his mother, Shari Shanahan, Oak Park, IL, his father, Jerry (Sandy) Shanahan of Crystal Lake, IL, his father in law, Dennis (Ruth) Weidler, Beaver Dam, his mother in law, Esther Weidler of Madison, his sister, Kimberly (Nick) Berghold of St. Louis, MO, his brother, Kevin (Gina) Shanahan of Plainfield, IL, his step brother, Nick Behling of Crystal Lake, IL, one nephew, Kyle Shanahan, and two nieces, Elisabeth Shanahan and Emily Berghold. He is further survived by his best friends Ben and Nate, two grandmothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Justin is preceded in death by two grandfathers, his aunt, Linda (nee Pittman) Matyka and his uncle, Buzz Pittman.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2008 from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. Beaver Dam,WI. A second Memorial Gathering will take place on July 14, 2008 from 3-8p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, IL. 888-629-0094 Memorials in Justin's name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
