Karen Jane Niceler passed from our world following a long illness on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam.
A memorial gathering for Karen will take place on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Karen was born on September 27, 1951 in Beaver Dam, the third daughter of Carl and Betty (Braker) Lininger. She is a 1969 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. She married Joe Broadus in Beaver Dam in 1976. They divorced in 1985. She moved to Arizona in 1985, returning to Wisconsin in 1998. While living in Arizona she married Larry Niceler on February 6, 1993 in Mesa, Arizona. They were married 32 years. Larry preceded her in death on October 11, 2024 following a long illness.
Karen is survived by her sisters, Eileen Kranz, Donna Draheim and Ella Zak; her brothers, Gary (Cheryl) Lininger, Michael (Jeanne Tietz)Lininger and Tom (Marty) Lininger. She was also survived by her mother-in-law, Connie Niceler of California, and by her aunts, Sue Butterbrodt and Karen Braker and one uncle, Larry Freber. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and their families, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Linda Frey (2021) and Jean Lininger (2022); her brothers-in-law Richard Kranz, David Draheim and Walter Frey Sr; and her first husband Joe Broaddus.
