Katherine LeMay Cantrell, age, 71, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 from 3-5 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services in Beaver Dam. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 5 p.m.

Katherine was born on July 7, 1954, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Jules Marion and Betty Lamae Krueger Winn. Katherine graduated from Cooper High School. After graduating, she attended Anoka Technical College to study welding. Throughout her career, Katherine exemplified hard work and commitment, notably serving as a cook at Wayland Academy where she shared her passion for food and hospitality.

On June 18, 1988, Katherine married John Cantrell in Beaver Dam. Katherine found joy in a variety of hobbies. Her love for gardening reflected her nurturing spirit, while her talent in quilting showcased her creativity and skill. A devoted reader with a passion for knowledge, she also enjoyed making jewelry, expressing her artistic side. These activities were complemented by her interests in motorcycles, cooking, and a deep affection for cats.

An active member of her community, Katherine contributed her time and talents to organizations such as the Book Club and Quilt Guild. She had a profound sense of responsibility toward helping others, often engaging in acts of kindness and giving generously to those in need.

Katherine leaves behind her sisters, Susan Abernathy and Julie Gebrayel; along with her niece, Angela Merwin; and grandniece, Alyssa Merwin. Additionally, she is survived by many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; and other family members.
