Obituary

Kathleen Mae Bolstad (Carter), 82, of Middleton, WI passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Cardinal View in Middleton. She was born on March 22, 1942 in Port Washington, WI to the late Frederick (Fritz) and La Verne (Bastian) Carter.

A memorial gathering for Kathleen will take place on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.

Kathleen joined in holy matrimony with Ronald Wilbur Bolstad on September 30, 1961 at St John's Lutheran Church in Lowell, WI. Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Kathleen is survived by her husband Ronald; children Lisa (Brad) Boortz, Todd (Dawn) Bolstad, Scott (Anne) Bolstad; grandchildren Nicholas (Anna) Boortz, Allison (Drew) Kloes, Joshua Bolstad, Andrew Bolstad, Genevieve Bolstad; great-grandchild Lincoln Boortz; along with her sisters, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents.

Kathleen graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1960. Kathleen worked a variety of jobs including the Telephone Company, the Beaver Dam School District Food Service and as a Customer Service Manager for Kohl's department store. Earlier in life, while living in Beaver Dam, WI, Kathleen enjoyed baking wedding cakes, gardening, canning, reading and travelling. She belonged to First Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she donated many hours of her time cooking spaghetti dinners, Easter breakfasts, bake sales, and other fundraising activities for the youth group. Kathleen had her children participate in 4-H and she spent countless years in many different roles within the organization. In her later years, she and Ronald enjoyed watching the Beaver Dam Must-Skis, visiting with friends and taking day trips.

Her family was extremely important to her. She and Ronald made sure to never miss any performances, graduations and major life events, no matter if they were in Green Bay, WI, Atlanta, GA, or even in Portland, ME. Her dedication and grace was extended out to many friends throughout the years as she was always willing to help those in need.

Kathleen Mae Bolstad will be known for the love shared to her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchild, and most of all, the gratitude to the Lord for the blessings that he has bestowed on her.

The family would like to say a Special Thank You to the staff of Cardinal View and the caregivers from Brighton Hospice that took such tremendous care of Kathleen during her final years on earth.
