Kathleen "Kay" R. Wells, age 80, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully at the Golden Living Center on Sunday, September 5, 2010.
Kay was born on August 18, 1930 in Richland County, Wisconsin to Jesse and Ruby Lewis. She was a graduate of Reedsburg High School. On January 20, 1950, Kay was united in marriage to Charles Wells in Cazenovia, WI. For many years, she worked at A&P Supermarket in Madison in the deli and also as a meat wrapper. She enjoyed dancing, cooking and sewing.
Kay is survived by her husband, Charles of Beaver Dam; her grandson, Mike (Regina) Slinger of Pardeeville, WI; her brother, Jesse (Mary Jo) Lewis of Muscoda, WI; and her sister, Marion Stanley of Mauston, WI. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Beverly Kay Slinger in 2000; her brother, Grant; two sisters, Claire and Grace; and her brother-in-law, Lester Stanley.
A Funeral Service for Kay will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd, Beaver Dam. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Fox Lake, WI.
