Keith Zacharias heroically lost his life on January 4, 2025, while saving a drowning dog that had fallen through the ice. His deep love for all living beings was evident in everything he did. Not a single stray cat left his home without receiving care, often enjoying a home-cooked meal and heartfelt praise. He sought deep connections with everyone he met, viewing every crowd as tinder for conversations he'd kindle into warm friendships.
Keith loved with a tireless ferocity, to be matched only by an unwavering ethic; he never missed a day of work. His family fondly recalls him shoveling the snow-covered county roads, section by section, with selfless conviction and ironclad obligation to punch the time clock. After retirement, Keith found pleasure in perusing the Amish produce auction, babysitting his grand fur baby, Daisy, cutting kindling, and cozily enjoying the warmth of a wood stove while watching the wildlife play just outside his living room window. His remarkable talent for crafting birdhouses and flower boxes, selecting the appropriately ripe produce, being the family mechanic, and baking the best lasagna will be dearly missed.
We will love you forever - your family, Helen, Laurie, Steven, Bobo, and Daisy.Keith was proud to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Instead of flowers, he requested that his loved ones donate to the hospital in his name at St. Jude's
