Kenneth J. Serchen, age 82, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at home peacefully surrounded by his family.
A memorial gathering for Ken will take place on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 p.m.
Ken was born to James and Dorothy Serchen on November 27, 1942, at home in Milwaukee, WI. Following high school in Wisconsin Rapids, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He attended banking school at UW-Madison. On July 15th, 1967, he was united in marriage to Linda R. Muth at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Together they enjoyed 57 years of marriage. He had a very successful banking career. One of his goals in life was to be president of a bank by the age of 40. He accomplished his goal at 39. He was always an active member of his community wherever he lived. He was on the Police and Fire Commission in Beaver Dam, a member of the Dodge County Board of Supervisors, as well as President of the Beaver Dam and Kenosha Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of the Jaycees and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid Badgers, Marquette, and Packers fan. You could usually find him on a golf course or with cards in his hand. Ken really enjoyed being a snowbird and loved spending time in Fort Myers, FL. He really treasured his recent Badger Honor Flight trip.
Ken is survived by his wife, Linda of Beaver Dam; his daughters, Sara (Brian) Livingston of Beaver Dam, Susan (Kris) Trotter of Beaver Dam, and Samantha Serchen of Neenah; grandchildren, Katie Livingston of Milwaukee, Tyler Livingston of Milwaukee, Maxx (Alex) Livingston of La Crosse, Cody (Breighanna) Trotter of Beaver Dam, Cassidy Trotter of Denver, CO, Chloe (Aiden) Trotter of Beaver Dam, Camden Sears of Beaver Dam, Mckenna Mueller of Appleton, Kylee Mueller of Whitewater, and Lily Szymik of Neenah; great-grandchildren, Greysen, Nash, and Isla Calving, Porter Livingston; cousin, David and sister-in-law, Bonnie Marx of Wisconsin Rapids; brother, Bob Serchen of Wisconsin Rapids; brother, Russ Serchen of Wisconsin Rapids; and brother, Mark Serchen of Camp Douglas, WI. He is further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and other relatives.
We would like to thank all the nurses, CNAs, and doctors at Ascension Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh, WI, for taking such good care of our dad. We would also like to thank Compassus Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
