Kent Jay Quade, 66 of Randolph, WI went home to heaven on Friday, May 17, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison, WI.

Visitation for Kent will be held on Thursday, May 23 at Faith Lutheran Church, Markesan from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Matthew Ude officiating. Burial will take place at Lake Maria Cemetery, Markesan. Following the burial, a gathering time will take place back at church.

Kent was born on September 29, 1957, to Theodore Sr. and Irmgard (Quandt) Quade. He was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Manchester, WI and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Markesan, WI. He was a graduate of Markesan High School, Class of 1975. He was lifelong member of Faith Lutheran Church, where he served on various boards and the Church Council.

Kent and June (Rieger) were united in marriage on October 15, 1983, in Lemmon, South Dakota. They were blessed with two children, Samantha and Joseph.

Kent was blessed to farm side-by-side with his dad for many years. He continued to share his passion for farming with Brian and Ethan Schulz and Archie Quade. Spring planting and fall harvest were two of his favorite times of the year. In addition to farming, he drove truck for Ed Drager and Schulz Transport, eventually starting his own trucking business, Quade Trucking, where he hauled vegetables for local canning companies.

Kent and June enjoyed many adventures over the past years (Kent was always up for a good hike or bicycle ride that June lined up). Some of his most cherished memories were hunting in South Dakota and Canada with family and friends.

Most days you could find Kent at the Schulz Shop in Markesan giving his words of wisdom and guidance. One of Kent's favorite hobbies was playing cards; you were sure to find him on Monday nights at Mike's Hilltop Tavern and Thursdays at Winder's Pub.

Most of all his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends, especially his three grandchildren, Ruby, Parker and Cora.

Kent is survived by his wife of 40 years, June; his daughter, Samantha Quade, and Andy Dolgner and grandchildren, Ruby and Parker; his son, Joe (Laura Manson) and granddaughter, Cora; brother, Ted (Georgine) of Waukesha, WI; sister, Marla (John) Scheberl of Fond du Lac, WI; in-laws, Vickie (Wade) Peterson of Lemmon, SD, Donald (Tammy) Rieger of Milbank, SD, and Debbie (Kim) Salzsieder of Custer, SD.  He is further survived by nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and in-laws, Robert (Evelyn) Rieger and other relatives.

"We will hold you in our hearts until we can hold you in heaven."
