IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry
Krueger
March 1, 1953 – October 18, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Denis "Bucky" Krueger of Beaver Dam, who departed this world on October 18, 2024 at the age of 71. Born on March 1, 1953, in Portage, Wisconsin, Larry was the eldest son of Norman and Shirley (Diamond) Krueger. He grew up in Portage and was a proud graduate of the Portage High School Class of 1971.
Larry married the love of his life, Ruth Peterson, on October 12,1974 in Doylestown, and together they created a warm and caring home filled with love. Larry dedicated many years of his life to serving his community, notably as a firefighter with the Columbus Fire Department for 17 years. His love for the community extended beyond his firefighter duties as a former member of the Columbus 4th of July committee. Larry was a devoted member of the Portage United Methodist Church, and his professional journey included a successful career at Kayser Ford in Madison, from which he eventually retired.
An avid fan of NASCAR, hockey, old westerns, and Hallmark movies, Larry possessed a playful spirit and a love for the simple things in life. Friends and family will fondly remember his stories and laughter, as well as the joyful times spent together or on the phone reminiscing about past escapades. His unmistakable laugh, generous heart, and steadfast commitment to his loved ones will be deeply missed.
Larry is survived by his cherished wife of 50 years, Ruth Krueger; his two brothers, Scott and Paul; and his chosen kids, his "Schmutzels", Amy, Erin, Casey, Ellen, and Jessica, whose lives he touched in profound ways. He was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Shirley.
Ruth would like to extend her heartfelt gratitude to friends, neighbors, and the staff of Randolph Health Services for their love and support during this difficult time. She couldn't have gotten through the last few years without you all.
There will be no formal services held at this time.
Larry's legacy of love, service, and unwavering spirit will forever remain in our hearts. Rest peacefully, Larry.
"The world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day, but the love and memory of you shall never pass away."
