Lathorial Wedman

Lathorial “Tori” Wedman, 97, of Waupun, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at her residence at Prairie Ridge in Waupun.

Tori was born July 17, 1926 in Chicago, the daughter of Charles and Alma Weidner Dumke. Tori’s mother died when she was 2 years of age. Her father, Charles then married Edna Winge who raised Tori, loving her as her very own. In 1931 she moved with her family to Bowler, WI where she attended school and later married Leonard Preuss on August 9, 1947. The couple farmed for several years in the Bowler area and moved to Waupun in the early 1960’s. Tori was employed by American Family Insurance for several years and was later employed at Waupun Memorial Hospital in Admissions, retiring in 1988. Her husband, Leonard Preuss preceded her in death in 1974. On May 19, 1978 she married Evan Wedman in Waupun. The couple resided in Waupun and he preceded her in death in 1989. Tori was a very active member of Pella Lutheran Church in Waupun.

Tori is survived by a son, Leland “Lee” (Geri) Preuss of Fond du Lac, a granddaughter-in-law, Rita (Brian) Holbach of Waupun; a great-granddaughter, Kayla Kreuziger of Appleton; two great-great-grandchildren, Harvey and Hudson; two sisters: Joy Buhrandt of DePere and Bonnie Hoffman of Appleton; a sister-in-law, Lorna Dumke of Shawano; two step-grandchildren: Vince (Traci) Schultz of Fond du Lac and Keetra (Chris) Baker of Malone; step-great-granddaughter, Alaine (Colin) Birschbach; step-great-great-grandson, Leon; three step-children: Diana (Curt) Powell of Winneconne, Elizabeth (Wayne) Buteyn of Waupun, and Evan (Barb) Wedman of Fond du Lac; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and close church friends.

Tori was preceded in death by her husbands: Leonard Preuss and Evan Wedman; a daughter, Lois Bahr; a daughter-in-law, Denise Preuss; a grandson, Terry Krueziger; two infant Krueziger granddaughters; a brother, Lyle Dumke; and brother-in-law, August “Junior” Buhrandt.

Funeral services for Tori Wedman will be held Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Pella Lutheran Church in Waupun with Rev. David Knuth officiating. Burial will take place at Symco Union Cemetery in Symco. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
