Lauretta Helmer

Lauretta Mae Helmer, 91, a resident of Randolph Health Services, died Wednesday, December 5, 2018.

Lauretta was born April 21, 1927 in Kingston, WI the daughter of George and Laura Dahlke Buchholz. Lauretta was a graduate of Markesan High School. Following high school she worked as a bookkeeper in Milwaukee. On May 7, 1950 she married Herman “Butch” Helmer in Kingston. Following their marriage the couple farmed in the Neshkoro area most of their married lives.

Lauretta is survived by four sons: Lloyd (Sallie) Helmer of Ripon, Lynn (Debra) Helmer of Green Lake, Lamont (Nancy) Helmer of Princeton, and Lyle (Judie) Helmer of Waukesha; a daughter, Laura (Dale Paul) Helmer of Fox Lake; grandchildren: Matthew, Jessica, Aaron, George, Missi, JJ, Ryan, Sarah, Tim, Ken, Nathan, Brandi, Andrew, Travis, and Jacob; five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Arlene Werth of Markesan, and Donna Gedamke of Waupun; a brother, George (Bev) Buchholz of Darien, WI; and a brother-in-law, Orrin Helmer of Markesan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Helmer; and two brothers-in-law.




Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday at the church from 5 p.m. until the time of service.


Funeral services for Lauretta Helmer will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 at 7 p.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupun with Rev. David Cooper officiating.



Private burial will take place at Kingston Cemetery.
