Lauretta was born on October 12, 1947 to Harold Pritchard and Elaine (nee Simonson) Freund and was united in marriage to Clifford J. Kikkert Sr. on November 27, 1965. She did industrial sewing at Kolpin Manufacturing for 35 years and also enjoyed quilting and knitting in her free time. Lauretta was known to have a "green thumb" and was a fabulous cook. Along with making her famous potato salad, homemade noodles and other trusty favorite recipes, she also enjoyed trying out new recipes after watching cooking shows on TV. She liked browsing local rummage sales and flea markets, as well as going camping. Lauretta was always there for her family and loved babysitting her grandchildren.
Lauretta is survived by her loving husband, Clifford J. Kikkert Sr. of Waupun; her children, Brenda (Tim) Hackbarth of Byron, WI, Clifford (Michelle O'Rourke) Kikkert Jr. of Wauwatosa, WI and Denise (Dean) Mielke of Beaver Dam; her grandchildren, Halie and Ethan Hackbarth, Tarena and Zacharia Kikkert, and Hunter and Meghan Mielke; her siblings, Charles (Pam) Pritchard of Fall River, Richard Pritchard of Beaver Dam, Dianne (Ed) Surprise of Beaver Dam, John Pritchard of Allenton, Shirley (Gene) Smith of Rosholt, WI and Debra (Gene) Gossen of Athelstane, WI; and her brother-in-laws, Jerry (Bonnie) Kikkert of Watertown, Bernie (Gerri) Kikkert of West Bend and Wayne Kikkert of Horicon. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Lauretta was preceded in death by her parents, her father and mother-in-law, Nick (Harriet) Kikkert, her sister-in-law, Audrey Pritchard, and other relatives.
A Memorial Service for Lauretta will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam with Rev. Jenny Dawson officiating. Immediately following the service, a Memorial Gathering will take place until 7:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, in the Town of Trenton.
