Obituary

Lawrence "Buzz" Grosskreuz, age 88 of Dalton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at home.

Lawrence was born on August 22, 1924 in Milwaukee, WI. After high school graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army infantry division during World War II. Buzz worked as a truck driver, and he was an avid newspaper reader and enjoyed keeping up with politics. He was quite the storyteller, liked talking on the phone and enjoyed his cats.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Velma of Dalton; his children, Theresa (Duane) Wichman of Milwaukee, Kim Miller of Rosendale and Lawrence (Helen) Grosskreuz Jr. of Houston, TX; his grandchildren, Katherine, Joey, Justin, Kris (Eric), Ryan (Lauren), Sean, Darian and Merrisa; and his great-grandchildren, Abi, Madi, Gavin and Sammy. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Steven in 1984, his daughter Della in 2010 and his grandson, Kevin.

Visitation for Lawrence will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan. Burial will take place on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in the Town of Kingston with graveside military honors.
