Lorna A. O'Donovan-Picatto

Lorna A. O’Donovan-Picatto, 75, of rural Waupun, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the Christian Home in Waupun.

Lorna was born January 10, 1948 in Port Washington, WI the daughter of Robert and Lucille Kemp Wiechmann. Lorna resided in Mequon during her youth and attended Homestead High School, graduating in 1966. Throughout her life she worked in various positions in the medical field including Home Healthcare and Medical Records at Waupun Memorial Hospital from which she retired. Lorna married Edwin Faber in Jackson, WI. They moved to Brownsville where the couple farmed for many years. On July 10, 1982 Lorna married John F. O’Donovan Sr. in Waupun. The couple farmed in the town of Chester and John passed away in 1998. On February 5, 2005 she married Benjamin Picatto in Branson, Missouri. The couple resided in the town of Chester. Lorna was a town clerk in the town of Chester for 30 years and a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Lomira. She was very active in Dodge County 4-H as a leader for many years and was leader of the Achievers 4-H of Waupun for 31 years. Lorna was a proud breeder of Rambolitt Sheep. She was an avid gardener of vegetables. 

Lorna is survived by her husband, Benjamin Picatto; children: Tammy Steers (Gary Fleischman), Trisha (John) Frey, Jeffrey Faber, and Shawn O’Donovan (Mandi Schaumburg); Eight grandchildren: Emily and Kaitlyn Schwanke, Alex, Brandon, and Hanna Faber, Connor Steers, Lillia Brewer, and Alexa Strehlow; a brother, Ronald (Sherry) Wiechmann of Waterloo; a step-son, Brian (Lorna) O’Donovan; and nieces and nephews. She will be missed dearly by Sox and Box, her beloved cats. 

Lorna was preceded in death by husband, John F. O’Donovan Sr.; parents, Robert and Lucille Wiechmann; and aunt, Doris Kemp.

Funeral services for Lorna A. O’Donovan-Picatto will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Methodist Church in Lomira. Burial to follow at Atwater Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Tuesday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
