Obituary
Lurah L. Sanders, age 83 of Markesan, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon, WI.
Lurah was born on January 25, 1930 in Fond du Lac, WI to Royal and Leona (nee Schumitsch) Green. She graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac. On February 23, 1948, she was united in marriage to Lester A. Sanders in Ripon.
Lurah was a member of Markesan United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, being outdoors and around hunting.
Lurah is survived by her sons, Ronald (Suzanne), Harold (Barbara), Martin (Susan), James (Shawn), Thomas (Debra) and Richard (Karen); her daughter, Charlene Link; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank (Grace) Green and Albert (Nancy) Green; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester; sons, Eugene, David and Robert; daughters, Susan and Kathleen; one granddaughter and other relatives.
A Funeral Service for Lurah will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Markesan United Methodist Church, 74 E. Catherine St., Markesan with Rev. Ethan Larson officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service at church, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun.
