Obituary

Lynn Reed, beloved wife, mom, "mimi", sister, daughter, aunt, mentor and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 9th, 2024.

A memorial gathering for Lynn will be held on Monday, November 18th, 2024 at St. Katherine Drexel Parish, 511 S. Spring Street Beaver Dam, WI from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM with Fr. Will Arnold as celebrant. A celebration of life will follow at the Boathouse Pub & Eatery, 10575 Chief Kuno Trail, Fox Lake, WI from 2:00 until 5:00 PM.

Lynn was born in Madison, WI to parents Ken and Mary (Doyle) Urso on May 18th, 1956. She graduated from Verona High School in 1974 where she met and ultimately married, her high school sweetheart and soulmate, Rick Reed. Rick and Lynn recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past February.

Following high school graduation, Rick and Lynn settled in Verona raising their three children, Brent, Scott, and Kelly until a career opportunity came calling for Rick. This opportunity brought the family to Forest Lake, Minnesota for three years and proved to be the perfect stepping stone for Rick and Lynn to open their own business in 1987, Rick Reed Chrysler in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Opening a new business in a community where you have little ties can be an intimidating endeavor, but Lynn flourished in her new surroundings, quickly establishing relationships with customers and employees that remain as strong as ever today. Within the community, Lynn created a legacy of selflessness and giving by always being eager to volunteer or assist where needed.

Always proud of her Italian heritage, Lynn loved to cook. If you were fortunate enough to have tried her homemade pizza, stuffed shells, or famous "mimi rolls," consider yourself lucky, and her amazing homemade chocolate chip cookies even took on legendary status in the community. One thing Lynn always made sure of, no one left a family dinner or holiday party hungry.

Lynn was truly in her happy place anytime she was in the presence of family and friends. The countless memories made swimming in the pool, at Fox lake, or up north will be cherished by many. The family trips to Badger Football Bowl games and recent friend trips to various destinations were things she loved to reminisce about.  But above all else, she loved her role as "Mimi" to her 7 adoring grandchildren who will always hold a special place in her heart.

Lynn is survived by her loving husband Rick Reed; three children Brent (Kristy) Reed, Scott (Amy) Reed, Kelly (Chris) Kuenzi; seven grandchildren Madelyn, Lauren, Carter, Tessa, Avery, Annika, Vince; father Ken Urso; father-in-law Vince Reed; brothers Joe Urso, Jeff (Cheryl) Urso, Mike (Cheryl) Urso; brothers-in-law Dan (Cindy) Reed and Tom Reed; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Lynn was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Urso; mother-in-law Jan Reed; brother John "Tim" Urso; sister-in-law Deb Thilgen; brother-in-law John Thilgen and other relatives.
