Obituary

Madelyn J. Michels, age 90 of Markesan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Markesan Resident Home.

Madelyn was born on September 2, 1923 in Markesan to Edward and Margaret (nee Fenske) Luethe. She graduated from Green Lake High School, and on June 8, 1941, she was united in marriage to Maurice Michels in the parsonage of United Brethren Church, which is now Markesan United Methodist Church. Madelyn was a member of Green Lake Farm Bureau and a faithful member of Markesan United Methodist Church. In her earlier years, she enjoyed attending family picnics, traveling, doing bible study with friends and cooking. She cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Madelyn is survived by her children, Wayne (Karen) Michels of Markesan, Jean (John) Hendrickson of Stoughton, Linda (Robert) Fischer of Markesan; grandchildren, Rhonda (Scott) Schroeder of Green Bay, Tricia (Gary) Stellmacher of Fairwater, Ryan (Laci) Michels of New Glarus, Jaret (Penny) Hendrickson of Middleton, Jory (Katie) Hendrickson of St. Cloud, MN, Shelly Yaroch of Littleton, CO, Sherry (Les) Millette of Oshkosh, Lindsey (Troy) Sell of Sturgeon Bay; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Rachel Schroeder, Madyson and Max Stellmacher, Karley and Kamryn Michels, Jake and Morgan Hendrickson, Jordan and Taren Yaroch and Bryn and Connor Millette. She is further survived by her sister, Evelyn Menke of Ripon, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Madelyn is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Maurice in 2007 and other relatives.

A Funeral Service for Madelyn will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Markesan United Methodist Church, 74 E. Catherine St. in Markesan with Rev. Ethan Larson officiating. Visitation will also be on Friday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Markesan Memorial Cemetery in Markesan.
