Marcelette was born on June 22, 1917, the daughter of George and Florence (Dougherty) Berg. She was united in marriage to Lloyd L. Schmuhl on August 9, 1940 in Fairwater. Marcelette taught school for 36 years and loved all of her school children. Over the years, she taught at Utley, Mackford Prairie, Prairie View, Fairwater and Brandon schools. She enjoyed gardening and reading. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
Marcelette is survived by her daughters, Carol (John) Hazlewood, Brandon and Marilyn (Joseph) Guderski, Markesan; her grandchildren, Laura (Tim) Streich, Oshkosh, Jandelyn (Michael) Plane, Greenbelt, MD, John (Kimber Cleveland) Hazlewood, Jr., New York, NY, Jonathan (Jill) Guderski, Fond du Lac, MaryJo (Tim) Splittgerber, Oshkosh, Marcie (Jamie) Gossfeld, Poynette; great-grandchildren, Angelisa and Jonathan Plane, Molly Streich, Grace and Grant Guderski, Zachary and Jeremy Splittgerber, Jack and Max Gossfeld; and further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Wilson and Lorraine Berg and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.
