Margaret Ann Miller (Soukup), age 89 of Verona and previously Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on July 10th at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg due to progression of her dementia.
Visitation for Margaret will take place on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4:30 p.m. with Rev. Ron Mach officiating. Burial will take place at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Sugar Island (W3673 Co Rd. O, Watertown, WI 53098), on Tuesday, July 16, at 1:30 p.m.

She was born on August 21st, 1934, to Ladislav and Hilda (Seikert) Soukup in Lyndon Station, WI. Much of her youth was spent on the family farm and attending school. After graduating from Mauston High School, she attended the Milwaukee County General Hospital School of Nursing. Graduating in 1955 with a degree in Nursing, Margaret had many fond memories of her time as a young woman living in Milwaukee, WI.
After graduation, Margaret was employed as a nurse and worked mainly in Columbus and Beaver Dam, WI for 9 years. In 1964 Margaret was united in marriage to Rev. Russell L. Miller where they resided together in Beaver Dam, WI for 45 years until his untimely death in 2009. Margaret moved from Beaver Dam, WI to Verona, WI in 2015 to be closer to family.
Margaret is survived by her loving children, Matthew (Sherri) of Lake Geneva, WI, Mark of Milwaukee, WI, Mary of Verona, WI, and Jerome (Aislynn) of Madison; and one granddaughter, Mable of Madison, WI.
She is predeceased in passing by her husband Russell, parents Hilda and Lad, brothers James and Paul, and sister Jeanne Soukup Dunahee.
Margaret was a very loving and dedicated mother who supported her children's activities, such as: baseball, hockey, gymnastics, dance, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, school activities, and music. She enjoyed spending time with the family dogs, gardening, dancing, baking, and vacations at the family cottage in Waupaca, WI.
Margaret lived an active lifestyle and was extremely humble and hard working. Not only was she a full time mother and wife, she also held a few part time jobs such as: insurance company medical examiner, school crossing guard, newspaper carrier, drug store clerk and grocery store deli worker.
Margaret was very well-loved by her family and much of the local community. She will be greatly missed.
