Marie A. Waltich, age 68 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center – Beaver Dam.

A Celebration of Life gathering for Marie will take place at The Horicon American Legion Post 157, 735 S Hubbard St., Horicon, on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Marie was born in Milwaukee on June 23, 1954, the daughter of Richard and Joan (Philipp) Moscicke. She was a 1972 graduate of Menomonee Falls North High School, where she was active in the stage crew for numerous productions. She was also a part of the Civil Air Patrol, and in 1972, she received permission from her parents to join the United States Air Force at the age of 17, where she proudly served until 1975. Marie then worked at Kmart for 20 years before holding various positions at Colder's Furniture, where she eventually retired as a warehouse office manager. On March 30, 2004, she was united in marriage to her husband Jim Waltich in Milwaukee. She enjoyed making treats and goodies to give to her friends at work and others around her. She loved watching Hallmark movies and crocheting whenever she could, often crocheting afgans to donate to the American Legion. She was an avid supporter of both The American Legion and The American Legion Auxiliary. Marie was a quiet, but fiercely strong woman.

Marie is survived by her husband, Jim Waltich; children, Rich Watson, Andrew Watson, James Waltich, and Elizabeth (Terry) Miller; grandchildren, Staci, Denver, and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Jaelynn, Skyla-Lynn, and William; siblings, Patty (Rodger) Snyder, James (Kristin) Moscicke; Jeanette Watson, and Janice (Larry) Mazurek; and further survived by many loved nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

If desired, memorials in Marie's name may be directed to the American Diabetes Association of Milwaukee or Donate Life Wisconsin. She also wanted everyone to know just how important organ donation is and requested people sign up in her honor.
