Marie was born on May 2, 1914 to John and Ida Hein in Dodge County. She attended grade school in Neosho, WI. On May 1, 1936 she was united in marriage to Ruben Schultz in Horicon, where they also raised their family together. Marie retired from Old Fashion Foods in Mayville after working there for 30 years. Following the death of her husband 10 years ago, Marie lived alone at home until she moved into Marvin's Manor in Horicon on April 19, 2010. Marie was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon. She enjoyed playing cards and BINGO, as well as going on gambling trips. She treasured the time that she spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Marie leaves behind her children, Alice (Kenneth) Nitschke of Burnett and William (Kathy) Schultz of Horicon; her 12 grandchildren, Harold (special friend Tammy Schoenike) Nitschke, Mike (Lori) Schultz, Angela Haynes, Cindy (Russell) Eigenberger, Laurie (Phil) Pearson, Monica (Stan) Unertl, Jason Hein, Diane (Ed) Coulter, Duane (Darla) Buerger, Laura (Eric) Parr, Kari (Bruce) Decorah, and Kimberly (special friend Dwight Palmer) Buerger; 28 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; a special niece and nephew, Ron (Betty) Scholz of Pickerel Lake, WI; and her closest friends, Audrey and Gary Hargraves and Erna Liegal. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, four sisters, her husband, Ruben, her son, Roger (Betty) Hein, two daughters in infancy and one great-granddaughter.

A Funeral Service for Marie will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam with Rev. Steven Thomas officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be served at the funeral home, followed by the burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon.
