Marilyn Marie Davison, age 87 of Markesan, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Markesan Resident Home.
Visitation for Marilyn will be held on Thursday, May 6 at County Line Lutheran Church, W10505 Cty Rd AW, Markesan from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Abuya officiating. Burial will take place at Lake Maria Cemetery.
Marilyn was born in a farmhouse on Mackford Prairie on October 19, 1933 to Herbert and Emma (Mielke) Maas. She was baptized by Rev. Kobs at St. John's Church, Markesan and later confirmed at County Line Church by Rev. Herbner. Marilyn attended four different one-room country schools for eight years. She then attended Randolph High School, graduating in 1951. On April 25, 1953 she was united in marriage to Gordon F. Davison. Four sons were born to them. They farmed all their married life. Marilyn was the first female president of the church council at County Line Church, having also served as vice president and secretary. She was a member of the Lonely Cedar Homemakers for 50 years, as well as taught Sunday School for many years.
She leaves behind her sons, Wayne, Steven (Ann), Jeffrey (Jane), all of Markesan, and Mark of Minneapolis, MN, as well as eight grandchildren, Joe (Amanda) Davison, Rebecca Davison, Jessica (Mike) Witthun, Brian (Stacey) Davison, Karen (Gus) Falkenberg, Ranae (Troy) Fischer, Shannon (Chris) Jahsman, and Dustin Davison. She had 13 great-grandchildren: Gage, Alayna, Wyatt, and Mason Witthun, Taylor and Keyton Davison, Haley and Kyle Fischer, Adrie, Erica and Levi Falkenberg, and Oliver and Tyson Davison. She is further survived by her sister, Helene (Dave) Kohn and a brother, Allen (Sally) Maas.
Two brothers preceded her in death, Harold in 1932 and Edwin in 1995; her parents in 1970 and 1975; and her husband, Gordon on October 21, 2001.
