Marjorie R. Nitschke, age 96 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Charleston House.
Marjorie was born on September 15, 1915 to Alfred Sutton and Angeline Wright in the small town of Elba, WI. She would go on to graduate from Beaver Dam High School and eventually married the love of her life, Elmer C. Nitschke on October 26, 1934 in Rockford, IL.
First Evangelical Lutheran Church was an extremely large part of Marjorie's life. One of her many passions in life were to attend church every Sunday, whether it was in person or on the radio, on those rare occurrences she could not be there. She participated in the Ladies Aid-Retirees and helped in many other aspects within the church. Marjorie was also a member and long time supporter of the Ladies Elk Lodge in Beaver Dam.
When Marjorie was not at First Lutheran, she could be found at her cottage on Beaver Dam Lake. She loved to spend her days at the cottage where she would do activities from fishing on the lake with family and friends, cooking large meals and frying fish from the catch of the day, to taking the family water skiing on the lake. She was able to enjoy 25 long, happy years at the cottage.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Gene Nitschke; her son-in-law, Lynn Cundy; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Harland Sutton.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Elmer Nitschke; daughters, Marlene L. Linde and Judy A. Cundy; son, Gerald Nitschke; brother, Merlin Sutton; and her sisters, Eula Nitschke, Bernice Nitschke, Mildred Nitschke, and Eleanor Nitschke.
