Marlene M. Storm, age 55 of Beaver Dam, peacefully entered her Heavenly home on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.
Marlene was born on August 5, 1956 to Avolt and Evelyn (nee Jones) Zimmerman. Marlene was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church and was later confirmed at First Ev. Lutheran Church both in Beaver Dam. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1974 and on May 18, 1985 she was united in marriage to Gary Storm.
Marlene spent much of her life working in health care facilities. She was the first administrator at Sylvan Crossings in Beaver Dam and most recently worked at Clearview in Juneau. Marlene also served on the board of directors for Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton. One of Marlene's greatest joys was twirling her baton in numerous local parades and field corps. She was an award winning baton twirler and a member of the Flying Eagles Baton and Drum Corp from 1970-1974. Marlene was also active in the Miss Beaver Dam Lake Days, and was often seen driving the queen's car. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, when she would decorate the house and trees both inside and out. Marlene was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Marlene is survived by her husband of 26 years, Gary Storm of Beaver Dam; son Kevin Zimmerman of Beaver Dam; daughter Tracy (Jon) Berger of Oshkosh; grandsons, Matthew, Mason, Erich; a sister Mary (John) Nielsen of Sturgeon Bay; a brother Mike (Lori) Zimmerman of Randolph, her mother-in law, Gracie Storm of Beaver Dam and her brother-in-laws, Daryl (Traci) Storm and Jeff "R.J." (Debbie) Storm both of Beaver Dam. Marlene is further survived by her long time friend Cindy (nee Kirchoff) Felicki of Oak Creek, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, step-father Bob Lee and her father-in-law Donald "Rocky" Storm.
A Funeral Service for Marlene will take place on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1209 W. Circle Drive in Beaver Dam Rev. Bob Castro officiating. Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 3-5 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd in Beaver Dam and also on Monday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Service. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery and a luncheon will follow at Cornerstone. Memorials may be directed to Hillside Hospice or Dodge County Humane Society.
The family would like to thank the very special Hillside Hospice team that cared for Marlene and the support they gave to her family. A special thank you to family and friends who also helped with Marlene's care along with Dr. Abigail Christainsen who Marlene always confided in and looked forward to seeing.
