Marly Subotnik

Marly Subotnik , 79, of Burnett, WI, formerly of West Allis WI, found eternal peace on May 26th, 2024 following a courageous two year battle with cancer.

Marly was born August 22, 1944, the daughter of Harvey and Lorraine (Christensen) Rohleder. Marly attended Nathan Hale High School in West Allis, where she met her husband Donald Subotnik. Following high school, they shared many years of marriage, initially living in West Allis, later moving to Burnett. Marly held various jobs throughout her adult life, primarily in the healthcare field, always with an act of helping others. Her biggest passion was volunteering at the Waupun Animal Shelter for several years until she was unable due to her medical condition. Throughout life she had great love and compassion for all animals, loved decorating her house with an eye for primitives/antiques and enjoyed flowers and gardening.

Special gratitude from Marly’s family to all of the staff at the Waupun Christian Home and the SSM Health at Home Hospice for the exemplary care they gave during this journey.

Marly is survived by her son, Bret Subotnik, daughter, Brooke (David) Obermeyer, grandson, Logan (Dakota) Tabat, and other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Donald, both of her parents Harvey and Lorraine, her in-laws Frank and Evelyn Subotnik and other loved family members.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
