Martha Hopp, 96, of Waupun, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 03, 2012 at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Waupun where she resided.



Martha was born November 10, 1915 in Friesland, WI the daughter of Dick and Eike Beukema Kok. Martha started working as a hired girl at the age of 12. On July 5, 1935 she married James Hopp. They owned and operated Hopp’s Restaurant for many years. She was an avid Cub’s fan and loved to play Scrabble. She loved her Lord and was a charter member of Trinity Reformed Church. She was a marvelous mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.

Martha is survived by three sons, Michael (Doris) Hopp, Daniel (Maria) Hopp, and Joel (Sheila) Hopp; two daughters, Nancy Sherlock, and Lori (Jim) Houck; grandchildren, Dawn (Mark) Van Buren, Dean (Laura) Hopp, Susan (Kendall) Kastein, Rita (Brian) Holbach, James N. Hopp, Tim (Marie) Vossekuil, Michael (Bobbie) Vossekuil, Kyle and Kelsey Parr, and Denver Vande Zande, Stacy (Kent) Van Egtern, Rachael (Desmond) Van Houten, and Katie (Michael) Abramczyk; 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Edith Smits; a brother, Harvey (LaVerne) Kok; sisters-in-law Joan, Bernice and Janet Kok; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hopp in 1988; three brothers, Ted, Charles and Harold Kok; and a sister, Katie (Charles) Glewen.


Visitation:
Friends and relatives of Martha Hopp may call on the family on Friday from 3-7 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Services:
Funeral services for Martha Hopp will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. John White officiating.

Burial:
Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery.
