Marvin L. Krueger, age 76 of Fox Lake, passed away peacefully at Beaver Dam Community Hospital surrounded by his family on March 19, 2011 after a brief battle with cancer.
Marvin was born on March 31, 1934 at the Lutheran Hospital in Beaver Dam to Edmund and Olga (nee Haberkorn) Krueger. On April 12, 1958 he was united in marriage to Gladys Smit at St. John's Lutheran Chuch in the township of Trenton. Throughout his working years and all the way up until his retirement, Marvin truly enjoyed working at C.C. Linck as a tandem gravel truck driver. He lived on the family farm his entire life and enjoyed the simple things in life, like mowing the lawn, doing yardwork, reading the newspaper and spending time with his family and grandchildren, particularly attending their piano recitals and sporting events. He took a lot of pride in his vehicles and enjoyed going for motorcycle rides. Marvin was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gladys of Fox Lake; his son, James Krueger of Fox Lake; his daughter, Joan (Tim) Budde of Beaver Dam; his five grandchildren, Ashley Krueger of Johnson Creek, Erin Krueger of Fort Atkinson, Tyler, Lindsey and Hannah Budde of Beaver Dam; one great-grandson, Carter Blakey of Johnson Creek; two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; three cousins, Rollie Kindschuh and Florence Kindschuh both of Milwaukee, and Orville (Ann) Schmidt of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, one brother in infancy, one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
A Memorial Service for Marvin will take place on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd, Beaver Dam with Rev. Bob Castro and Rev. Dr. Mark Molldrem officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home, beginning at 2:00 p.m. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will take place at Riverside Memorial Park in Fox Lake.
