Mary L. Liddicoat, age 79, of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital surrounded by her family. Mary was born on May 10, 1930 in Beaver Dam to William D. and Viola (nee Zimmerman) Morgan. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1948 and later attended business college in Milwaukee. On November 4, 1950 she was united in marriage to Alton "Al" Liddicoat at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Mary enjoyed music, reading and traveling. She had a natural artistic gift and used that gift to do many crafts around the house. Her enjoyment in life came from other people's accomplishments and from taking care of her family. As a caregiver, she raised 7 children and also took care of her own parents as they grew older. She had an exceptional instinct for caring for others and was truly a wonderful caregiver in every sense of the word. The majority of her life was spent in Beaver Dam, but the family did move to Le Sueur, Minnesota from 1962-1973 and later returned to Beaver Dam. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and she will be sadly missed by her family.

Mary is survived by her children, Deborah (Thomas) Gillis of Willmar, MN, Michael Liddicoat of Chaska, MN, Scott (Debbie) Liddicoat of Green Bay, Jeffrey Liddicoat of Ripon, James (Lori) Liddicoat of Beaver Dam, John (Kim) Liddicoat of Greenville, WI, and Brian (Dawn) Liddicoat of Watertown; her grandchildren, Sarah and Becca Gillis, Jennifer and Timothy Liddicoat, Adrian and Damon Liddicoat, Josh and Ryan Liddicoat, Kaitlyn and Christina Liddicoat, and Arianna and Claire Liddicoat; her great-granddaughter, Bella Liddicoat; her brother, Brother Donald Morgan of Beaver Dam, and her sister-in-law, Lois Geiger of Richfield, WI. Mary is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alton "Al" in 2002, her sister Jeanne Meier and her brother William Morgan.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 127 W. Maple Ave in Beaver Dam at 11:00 a.m. with Father John Schreiter officiating.
