Mary Wendel, age 66, passed away on October 13, 2025.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services in Beaver Dam. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Mary was born on October 17, 1958, the daughter of Vernon and Patricia (Belzer) Wendel.

For over 42 years, Mary served as a supervisor for the Department of Corrections & the State Office of Probation Parole, a role she embraced with commitment and diligence. Throughout her career, she was on call for seven different counties, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to her work and those she served.

Mary's passions extended far beyond her professional life. She found joy in crafting and baking, earning endearing nicknames like "Ms. Mary's Sweetie Pies" and "Queen of Butter." Her culinary delights were a source of comfort and happiness for many, as she generously supplied her colleagues, the probation and parole agents, with delicious treats and snacks. These agents were like family to her, and she showed her love and affection through food.

A lover of travel, Mary held a special fondness for Hawaii, visiting the islands four times in her lifetime. Beyond Hawaii, her adventures took her to beautiful destinations such as Maine, Nova Scotia, Aruba, Mexico, and South Dakota, each trip providing her with new experiences and memories to cherish.

Mary is survived by her husband, Timothy Rohde; her sister, Diane; sisters-in-law: Pam Hilker and Lisa (David) Brill; brother-in-law, Ross (Sara) Rohde; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Patricia Wendel; her in-laws, Daniel (Hazel) Rohde, and her sisters, Sandra, Lisa, and Stacy.

The family requests that all guests who attend wear casual attire; tropical shirts are suggested.
