Matthew "Matt" M. Masche, age 35, formerly of Beaver Dam, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 26, 2008 in Vilas County, Wisconsin.
Matt was born to Edward G. and Lois L. (nee Poetter) Masche on November 22, 1972 in Columbus. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1991, and for the past two years, he has worked for Benson Builders in Eagle River, WI. Matt was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying fishing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, hunting and going for walks in the woods. He competed in several Muskie fishing tournaments across the U.S. Matt enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and dogs. He learned woodworking from his dad, a craft which he used to make his own fishing lures. He became quite a perfectionist at making lures, and many of his friends successfully enjoyed using them as well. Matt was also a Badger and Packer fan. He was a former member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Matt will be deeply missed by his mother, Lois Masche of Beaver Dam; his two brothers, Michael (Stephanie) Masche of Reeseville, and Mark (special friend Mary Ann Hart) Masche of Beaver Dam; maternal grandparents, Roland and Hilda Poetter of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents and two uncles.
Private family services were held with Rev. Philip Heyer officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Lowell Cemetery in the village of Lowell.
