Obituary

Maxine Neuman, age 88 of Markesan, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 22, 2018.

Visitation for Maxine will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, W3377 Main St., Manchester from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Plagenz officiating. Burial will take place at Manchester Cemetery.

Maxine was born on July 2, 1930 in South Milwaukee, the daughter of Otto and Anna (Schwandt) Mildebrandt. As a child her family moved to the Marquette area and she graduated from Markesan High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to her husband, Milton Neuman, on May 28, 1950 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Manchester. A honeymoon trip out west was the first of their many travels to over 35 states. Maxine and Milton were dairy farmers in Green Lake Township on Spring Lake Farm. She enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, square dancing, and being a member of Crossroads Homemakers Club. Maxine crocheted beautiful, intricate doilies, afghans, and Christmas ornaments which will be treasured forever by her family. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Manchester. Maxine loved spending time with her family.

Maxine is survived by her husband of 68 years, Milton; daughter, Diane (Lee) Ladwig of Fond du Lac; sons, Wayne (Marlene) Neuman of Markesan, Allan (Dawn) Neuman of Wisconsin Rapids, and Darrell "Buzz" (Vicky) Neuman of Ripon; 10 grandchildren, Joanne (Angelo) Viard,  Julie (David) Hanson,  Jason (Val) Ladwig,  Jeff (Abbey) Ladwig,  Stephanie (Bret) Lichtenwald,  Pastor Steve (Sarah) Neuman,  Scott (Jamie) Neuman,  Caitlin (Josh Fangman) Neuman,  Jaime (Will) Martin and  Eric Neuman; 19 great-grandchildren,  Sebastian, Evan and Jayden Viard;  Alice,  Walter,  Conrad and  Preston Hanson;  Sage and Aspen Ladwig;  Levi and Trey Lichtenwald;  Mathias,  Oliver,  Kingston and Talia  Neuman;  Axel,  Gus,  Hazel,  and Skylar Martin.   She is further survived by three nephews,   Dennis "Farmer" Grahn,   Rick "Winder" (Mel) Grahn, and Gale (Renae) Grahn and their families, many dear cousins, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Beatrice and Alden Grahn; and other relatives.

Memorials in Maxine's name may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Manchester.
