Mayme I. Prechel, age 96, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Golden Living Center - Continental Manor in Randolph.
Mayme was born on June 25, 1916 to Olaf and Christine Olsen. In April of 1941, she was united in marriage to Raymond Prechel Sr. Mayme worked as a cook at Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam and was also a member of Ascension Ev. Lutheran Church in Antigo. Mayme enjoyed life to the fullest and was always a happy person. She enjoyed picking wildflowers, watching western movies, baking, polka dancing, gardening, doing crossword puzzles, animals and most importantly, spending time with family.
Mayme is survived by her children, Richard (Frances) Prechel of Beaver Dam, James (Sue Roedl) Prechel of Beaver Dam, and Michael Prechel of Antigo; her grandchildren, Laura (Joe) Dunham of Beaver Dam, Christopher Prechel of WA, Richard Prechel of Beaver Dam, Tara Prechel of WA., Brian (Jessica) Prechel of Waupun, Stephanie (Michael) Krenz of Fond du Lac and Tracy Prechel of Antigo. She is further survived by 13 great-grandchildren, a sister, Arlene Lan Cour of La Crosse, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mayme is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; a son, Raymond Prechel Jr.; great-granddaughter, Allysha Dunham; a brother, Harold Olsen, along with other relatives.
A Funeral Service for Mayme will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. (NOON) at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam. Visitation will take place prior to the service on Thursday at Cornerstone, beginning at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will immediately follow the Service at Cornerstone and inurnment will take place at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Atkinson.
