Melanie L. Reinap

Jan 10, 1949 — Jul 8, 2026

Melanie Lee Reinap, age 77, of Greenfield, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Melanie was born on January 10, 1949, in Biloxi, Mississippi, to the late William and Irene (Benzel) Bedford. She attended Concordia College, where she met the love of her life, Bob. After two years of dating, laughter, and time spent apart, their love only grew stronger, and they were united in marriage on May 30, 1970. Together they built a life centered on love and family, and in 1975 they welcomed their daughter, Sarah. Melanie found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. She had a special love for animals and cherished every pet she owned, especially her beloved cat, Marne. She was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and remarkable patience—especially when it came to Bob's sense of humor. Melanie was also a lifelong fan of The Beatles and held a deep admiration for President John F. Kennedy.

She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Bob; her daughter, Sarah (Dan) Stanislawski; her sister, Cheri (Paul) Weinke; her brother, Bill Bedford; her brother-in-law, Allan (Mary Ellen) Reinap; her sister-in-law, Gail Reinap; her nieces and nephews, Adam (Shawn) Weinke, Robbynn (David) Provenzano, Richard Reinap, Parker Reinap, and Russell Reinap; great nephews, Wyatt and Ethan Weinke; as well as many other relatives and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Melanie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Irene Bedford; her sister, Dasene Tessmann; her brother-in-law, David Tessmann; her parents-in-law, Andy and Barbara Reinap; and her brother-in-law, Dick Reinap.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Froedtert Hospital Cancer Center and the Advanced Care Center, as well as Horizon Hospice, for the exceptional care, comfort, and support they provided to Melanie and her family throughout her journey.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.
