Obituary

Beaver Dam resident Michael Skolaski, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at UW-Hospital in Madison surrounded by his family due to complications with diabetes and his long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Michael was the son of Eugene and Lorraine (nee Hoffman) Skolaski, born on June 25, 1949 in Lodi, WI. He was joined in holy matrimony on September 17, 1994 to Debbie Farnum. Mike enjoyed working at the Dodge County Jail as the kitchen supervisor. He also worked as a bartender for Voelker's Steak House, where he continued working even after retiring because he enjoyed getting to meet new people there.

Michael was an amazing father, friend and husband. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved having nights out with his wife. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he treasured all of the time he spent playing with them. He was a huge fan of music and a few favorite TV shows. He enjoyed playing cards, especially online euchre. Michael always had people laughing! All the way to the very end when he was sick in the hospital, he had an amazing sense of humor. He will be missed by many but never forgotten.

Michael is survived by his wife of 18 years, Debbie Skolaski; his children, David (Traci) Skolaski, Adam (Amy) Skolaski, Jerome Skolaski, Amy (Jason) Lieske, Ashley (Matt) Helmer, Andy Helms and Reba Skolaski; his grandchildren, Destiny, Nathanial, Joshua, Ethan, Jocelyn, Avery, Tiffani (Kyle) and Tabbitha; and his great-granddaughter, Addison. He is further survived by three sisters, Mary Lou Skolaski-Sinicin, Theresa Meyers and Susan Schmidt, Debbie's family, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jerry Skolaski, his sister Joann, four brothers-in-law, Leland Schmidt, Darrel Cook, Ed McKillip, Jeffery Rewey and other relatives.
