Michael Gartland

Michael "Mike" Glen Gartland, age 83, passed away on September 22, 2026 at Charleston House in Beaver Dam.

Mike was born July 24, 1943 to Glen and Anne(Schegetz)Gartland. He attended St. Patrick's Catholic school and Church and later graduated from Beaver Dam High School. After high school, Mike started a career as a tool and die maker. First, at Monarch Range, where he earned his Journeyman's card, ending at John Deere-Horicon Works, where he retired.

Mike married Marleen (Caves) on June 27, 1963. They were blessed with two boys, Jeffrey and James. Mike and Marleen enjoyed lake life and purchased a home on Silver Springs Lake in Neshkoro, Wi. Many family weekends were spent fishing and boating. After Marleen's passing in 1997, Mike remained on Silver Springs lake where he enjoyed fishing, mowing his lawn on his John Deere, and gardening, always with a dog by his side.

Mike is survived by his two sons: Jeffrey (Cheryl) Gartland and James (Patricia) Gartland. Six grandchildren: Michael (Hayley) Gartland, Alyson  (Nathan) Biewer, Elizabeth (Arnold) DeCamps, Cody Gartland, Mya (Dietrich) Jaeckel, and Luke Gartland. And one great-grandchild: Leo Thomas Biewer. Siblings; Patricia (Chad) Burchardt, Dan (Patti) Gartland; his special friend Sue Ann Patrouille; and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his wife Marleen, his parents Glen and Anne, and many other loved ones.

Honoring Mike's wishes, a private family inurnment will take place at the Westfield East Cemetery at a later date.
